Marnova x Big Bear and Bird: Handcrafted Shoes and Bags Brought to Life with Whimsical Illustrations and Embroidery

Marnova is a local handmade shoe brand celebrated for its creativity and unique styles, and I’ve had the joy of collaborating with them across three collections.

The first collection featured my watercolor illustrations transformed into seamless patterns printed on canvas, creating a feminine, ballerina-inspired look that was especially on trend at the time. For the second collection, we explored something more intricate—embroidery—with a playful twist: shoes featuring Ubu Bear as a couple, one on each foot, so they looked like they were walking side by side when worn together. To complement them, we also created matching embroidered bags for a complete set. The third collection was especially meaningful, as both the brand’s founder and I were in our third trimester of pregnancy while working on it, making the release a truly personal and heartfelt milestone.
